Panda Diplomacy
In such a powerful city, where contention and arguing are de rigur and inside the Beltway means your job often hinges on who is living in the White House, one little guy has brought everyone together, Tian Shan (sp), the new baby panda.
Washington DC's baby panda had his first public viewing yesterday - it was mad crazy, tickets were given out a few weeks ago and gone in minutes!! They were being sold on EBay (though given out for free). It was so insane, some diplomats from other countries couldn't even get in. I hope to see him in the spring, check out the site - he is so cute, no?

All baby critters are sweet to me but a baby Panda has to be the most precious because their species are in so much danger. Be sure to take loads of photos of the sweet thing when you visit him in the Spring!
He really is cute! It's nice to have a news break from politics.
Same thing in San Diego when our little one showed up. Lines for months, but no tickets. First come first in line. At the far end of the zoo from the entrance, so people would get in and just run to get down there.
Had a web cam in the house though, so you could see him before he was allowed out.
Brenda - you're right all baby creatures are cute, one of my friends says this is because otherwise we would kill them, they are so much work. :-)

Joe - I worry that even in the spring I won't be able to see the little guy, as it was the line for the Panda house is always long! they have a web cam running also, but it crashes ALOT!
