Crushin' on Nathan Fillion

(Laughing), I'm so sad people. Lately, I've been totally crushing on Nathan Fillion. He's this actor in one of my favorite television shows, Firefly and starred in the spin-off movie, Serenity. I received Serenity and the Firefly DVD's late last year and was watching them all over again during my winter break. This is why and where I think the crush has developed (more laughing).

I know, I'm 30, I should grow up. I blame this on my sadly pathetic lack of love life - when one doesn't have anyone in their life, you project onto someone - a dream. In my case, its this actor. Or is this a symtom of stress, financial management has got me all twisted?

In my defense, he is a hottie and Canadian (duh, I always go for non-Americans, see my year-long crush on the guy from South Africa, hey good news I'm over him and we are now friends, yay!!!). Fillion has a wicked sense of humor (from what I've seen in interviews) which is what I love in a guy! Can you believe this hottie - who is older than me! - is not married? The additional funny thing is that I use to watch Fillion when I was in high school- he use to be one of my favorite characters (Joey) on the soap opera, One Life to Live.

ok, I promise to grow up ASAP and act my age, be mature, poised, sophisticated and stop behaving like a 14-year old girl after an N'Sync concert. Thanks for indulging me.

i agree with the above comment. and it has nothing to do with your single status, trust me. Honey has a massive crush on Tina Fey (which i whole-heartedly support)among others and I sweat Daniel Craig, Jude Law, Clive Owen, Owen Wilson, Guy Pearce, Naveen Andrews, Orlando Bloom and the list goes on.

i also have hetero girl crushes on people, too: Tina Fey, the character Starbuck on Battlestar, America Ferrera, Amy Poehler. and platonic crushes: Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Mike Judge and Matt Groening, etc.

it's life. it happens. but it reminds me: always remember who you're sleeping with. one of my fave moments from the simpsons was when marge and homer were going to bed, marge was raving on and on about what a dedicated family man mel gibson was. "Homer, let's do it!" she cries after raving. "Are you going to be thinking of mel gibson or me?" Homer asks. "You, of course!" replies Marge. "Are you going to be thinking of me?" she asks. Vintage homer reply: "I will now!"

Weird, *I've* been totally crushing on Nathan Fillion (my roommate has taken to referring to him as my future husband), and I'm 30, and I feel like I should grow up. I want to blame it on my lack of love life, but suspect it's really just my personality. I also think the fact that he's gorgeous and, from what I can tell, both funny and intelligent makes him very crushworthy (and being Capt. Mal certainly doesn't hurt)! As far as the funny is concerned, you should check out his MySpace page (it really is him), if you haven't already. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=109763707
He's seriously hilarious.

Naema - oh you are so sweet - thanks man : )

Molly - Thank you, I thought you'd be happy to hear that I'm done with SA guy, though I think we are still friends. At least I hope so. But I'm yearing a little bit for my english guy, what is wrong with me?!

Elisamaza - Welcome!!! You made me forgot about my stress of financial management (and trying to pass it!) and had me laughing....out loud!! I'm so glad to find a kindred spirit - how weird you and I were crushing on him at the same time, what is that about?! Cosmic fate or something. Yes, I think you are right, his good looks combined with what appears to be a great sense of humor and intelligence, coupled with my images of him as Mal (I must remind myself that's a character NOT a real person), makes him attractive, particulary when I'm so single (and hating it!). I did see his myspace page (which cracked me up, as the only people I know with myspace pages all the 17 and 18-year old undergrad's here on campus, hee hee). I'm so glad you visited, I've found a sister in my crushing on Nathan Fillion - that rocks! Please do stop by and stay in touch, I shall try to do the same.

Brenda - hee hee, I'm soo glad to know I'm not the only one with crushes and this doesn't make me a freak! PS - thanks for stopping by, I know you're mad busy at tax season.

Hi all

The name's Dennis, though most people call me 'Freaky'. :P I'm in my "teens" and kinda lost in the world at the moment...however, I've found the hippie "culture" and discovered that it fits me very well...I'm not trying to fit into it, it just kind of fitted onto me.
I have lots of questions, which hopefully some of the older and wiser people on this board will be able to help answer.
Here's to hoping this board will be able to help me discover more of myself and fuel my beliefs.

Take care, Dennis from My Online Payday website!
