Happy Birthday

Midnight - it is officially my birthday, January 24th. Don't even ask how old I am - a lady never revels such things!

I will be spending the day in the car, on a family road trip to Connecticut, for a family friend's wedding. Not exactly the most fun day but what are you going to do? Last year I was in Denmark and didn't want to tell anyone, since I was older than most of the kids there and was afraid people would ask, "how old are you turning?" (Age is a bit of a sensitive issue for me as I am still unmarried and even by Western standards, I am getting to spinsterhood).

At least my family agreed that since it is my birthday I get to pick out all the places we eat on the way; so that will at least be fun.

Woohoo!!! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe spending the day in the car with the family won't be the best way to celebrate, but getting to choose places to eat along the way isn't a bad concession!

(and you're hardly reaching spinsterhood, my dear)

Happy Birthday, Virginia Gal! Does this mean I shouldn't expect you at our party tonight?

Oh please, don't lie ... a little birdy told me that you'll be spending the day, actually the weekend, at several bars that feature "handsome young men in various stages of undress". For shame! ;)

Happy Birthday, you don't look a day over 21

My number is significantly higher than your, but I'm STILL (after all these years) younger than my sister, my brother and at least some of my friends! It's all relative. Have a marvelous birthday!

Virginia Gal,
I feel EXACTLY like you! I turned 37 yesterday (the 23rd) and not married. I have never even been close, and the way things are going right now, I probably won't get there anytime soon. I tell my friends that I am getting a t-shirt made that says "Spinster in the making"...LOL. I keep hearing that life doesn't start until 40, so I am eagerly anticipating the next 3 years..(yeah, right!!!). I hope you have a great birthday. BTW..I lived in Virginia (Woodbridge) for a short period of time, and worked in Alexandria. Are you anywhere near there? I loved the state (it was so CLEAN and beautiful!) but didn't love my circumstances.
Again, Happy Birthday!

Belatedly, Happy Birthday!!!

Having started over in my 40's, I can tell you it's mostly a state of mind.

Hsppy Birthday, age is a state of mind. You are as old as you want to feel. As long you are alive thank God and enjoy life.
Just a friedly advice, if you are planning to start a famliy don't wait too long. You should probably make a Birthday resolution that you will be maried by next Birthday. It might motivate you.
Sometimes family trips can turn out to be fun, hope yours was too.
Congratulations on the New job.
